My name is Patrick Hannigan. I am currently a student in the Honours Computer Science Co-op Program at the University of Waterloo.
I have been designing and developing websites and applications for more than seven years. Throughout that time, I have worked with over a dozen professional clients as a freelance web designer, handling planning, design, development, and deployment responsibilities. I have also worked full-time on products with millions of daily users as a part of both design and development teams within large organizations.
I am knowledgeable with industry standard software development suites, object-oriented programming, agile development, bug-tracking and project management tools, and coding best practices. On the flip side, I am also experienced with UI design and UX guidelines, with emphasis on user centred design, user stories and workflows, and clean, usable interfaces.
I pride myself on creating professional, fully functional, sleek products on time and on budget. I deal with my clients in a professional manner and I know how to meet a deadline.

BeatBot is a personal project which lets users find and download their favourite music easily in .mp3 format.
Built using Google and Bing search APIs, Last.fm API, PHP, jQuery, and MySQL to parse and serve search results and other content.
Exclusive Homes Canada is a magazine and complimenting website showcasing luxury homes across Canada. Users can view images, videos, and other information for houses listed on the website, and realtors can register and upload their listings.
Includes integration with Google Maps API, YouTube API, payment gateway support, and jQuery slideshows. Built using Smarty PHP templates on top of the iRealty CMS.

ScreenSnippets is a digital signage platform which provides retailers with high quality displays which show content tailored to their patrons. Currently this personal project is in development, with a client facing website launched in December 2011.
Built on top of the Google TV platform using jQuery and ajax for transitions and heavy lifting. Leverages many APIs such as YouTube, Yahoo Weather, and support for RSS feeds.

Gerber Landscaping is based out of New Dundee, ON, and provides landscaping services.
Includes an original design, javascript powered image slideshows and a contact form powered by PHP.

NHCHC is a community health centre serving their community in Hamilton, ON. Their website was built on top of the Concrete5 CMS platform, and features an intuitive inline content editing system. Non-technical employees at NHCHC can manage and modify their website's content freely.
Custom programming was done using javascript, PHP and MySQL.

The Winsted Group provides solutions and services ranging from digital imaging to accounting software. Their company website was one of many given visual refreshes during a 2009 internship.
Products which were updated include a custom e-commerce platform, powered by Visual FoxPro
